My Story
My adventure of imagination began in a hallway.Yup I said a hallway. Not too spectacular is it? Except that my mom would sit in that hallway with a book in her lap, and me with my sisters would listen to her wonderfully read story upon story.
The stories read in that hallway opened the door to many imaginary worlds, worlds filled with treasure hunts, horned kings, talking lions and even a giant sailor being tied up on a beach.
Then I stepped into my mother’s magical work. Being a librarian in an old school, I enjoyed the smell of old dusty books cracking when opened, an alcove where I found even more worlds, and began to discover a desire to build my own.
I’ve come a long way from shipwrecking me and my friends on an island in my 5th grade creative writing assignment. Now I hope to invite you all to worlds filled with mud, suburban streets dominated by ogres, and a Meso-American technological wonder.
As I prepare those journeys, I hope that you will come along with me. I look forward to inviting you to sit in the hall and have your imagination opened wide.
